A perfume compound is a blend of natural and synthetic, raw materials which is meant to re- create A natural fragrance at a reasonable cost. Because of the astronomical cost of natural floral oils, most  of  the rose , jasmine, etc. Which you smell are compounds. Even designer perfumes are commonly 75-80% synthetic. For those of us who are opposed to the abuse of animals, compounds are necessity. Perfume compounds are less likely to cause allergic reactions on the skin. They are more cost effective and the nose cannot tell the difference between the natural fragrance and a compound therefore allowing the perfume compounds to be effective in aromatherapy.
